I Lit My Finger on Fire

Yea thats what I said. " My finger was on fire!"

I would say Monday was an interesting day. Well at least first hour chemistry was!
My teacher brings out some supplies and tells us that he is going to do an experiment for us.
DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!

The supplies include:
1. Some liquid, I have no idea what exactly it was.
2. Powder, again noo idea what?
3. A Blow Torch!!! Yay fire! :)
4. A pyrex glass pan.
Lets Let The Fun Begin!!

So he then mixes the water and the powder in the pan. Then he is playing around in it. Rubbing his finger all around in it, like a kid in a sandbox! He is having a blast!He fired up the torch and lit the liquid on fire. He then stuck his finger in it. Now his finger is on fire! The class was in shock, but also in awe!Next he starts mocking E.T saying "ET Phone Home" while his finger is on fire. That was funny!

So the contents of the pan are on fire and he dumps it all on the table! Yes the table was on fire. Then he started wiping it off the table and onto the floor! So the floor was on fire. He asked who was brave enough to come up and try this? Of course I wanted to go and try it. Cuz honestly, when do you ever get to light your finger on fire in school?Just kidding thats not the reason. I was curious!

Im sure the one question going through your minds is," Did it burn?" No it didnt burn. It would have burned if I had left it burning on my finger longer than I did. But what ever, I get to say I lit my finger on fire! And lost a few hairs but its all good, I would love to do that again!
